For some reason, the CRF 250L and 250L Rally's have really tall seat heights (over 35" and taller than the AFRICA TWIN!?! ), especially for a small displacement beginners bike.

NEW Service!

We are now offering an option to send your seat to us to be lowered. General turnaround time is 3-5 days.  If you'd like to do that, select the option below, box up your seat, and ship it to:

SRC MOTO Seat MOD

911 SW Court Ave

Pendleton Oregon 97801

Your return shipping is included in the cost.

Fits 2012-2020 250L & Rally

So we have some options to get your feet firmly on the ground. We are pleased to offer these custom-shaped lowering seats that lower the seat height by 2". These are brand new original HONDA seats that have been hand shaped and re-formed to reduce the seat height by 2" There is still 1-1/2" of foam cushion in the main seating area, so normal ADV riding won't be an issue, but if you are a hard-charging off-roader frequently getting airborne, it might be a bit firm on some landings! :-)

These were developed after my wife was about to give up on her Rally as it was too tall for her. She is relatively new to offroad riding and really felt unsafe and uncomfortable on the Rally, especially when riding on sidehills and slippery surfaces where she was not able to touch the ground when needed. We had already installed a lowering link and that helped, but she wanted it lower to feel comfortable. So we gave one of these a try and she now loves her Rally!  Easily installed in just a couple of minutes with common hand tools.

Now available in your choice of RED or BLACK- Please make a selection

We occasionally get further inquiries regarding lowering options and this is our general reply:

The cons of running a link are due to the geometry change in the suspension. In a nutshell, the bike becomes "choppered out" slightly. So the bike likes to go straight (improves straight-line stability), but when cornering on loose surfaces such as gravel roads or lose dirt, the bikes front end will have a bit more of a tendency to plow or push through corners. This is not noticeable on pavement and a beginner off road rider probably won't push the limits of traction enough to have it be an issue, but if you are an experienced off-road rider, you will most likely notice it.

Your HIMALAYAN comes with a beautiful classic 7" round H4 halogen headlight that actually puts out a decent swath of light!  Protect it from road debris impact damage with the SRC Designs Headlamp guard kit.

Available in your choice of satin black powder coat laser cut 14 gauge steel or natural brushed stainless steel finish.

The SRC headlight guard provides a proper defense against rocks, limbs, and other debris you might encounter on your adventures!

All mounting hardware is included and the guard is easily installed in about 10 minutes with common hand tools. The trick pin mount system allows for quick removal for cleaning with no tools!

Easily installed in just a few minutes with a Phillips screwdriver.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are running the windscreen in the upright position, you can install the headlight guard in that position, but it will be tilted forward a bit at the top. To keep it square to the headlight, you will have to make a slight modification to the windscreen to expose the lower mounting hole.  (use a round file to remove enough material to allow the rearmost headlight guard mounting bolts to be installed.)

The single biggest complaint from CRF 300L and Rally owners is that the suspension is sprung way too light and the damping is inadequate. The bike seems to be set up for a 100-pound beginner rider- Here's how to fix that.  A heavier spring or adjusting the pre-load will not resolve the issue.

Front Fork kit fits 2021-2025 CRF 300L & Rally/Rally ABS
The Fork kit comes with 3 springs, one light spring for 300L riders up to 175 lbs (7.5N/mm), one stiffer for 175+ 300L and Rally riders (8.5N/mm), the last hard spring for Rally riders (9.5N/mm). The kit also includes billet fork caps with integrated air bleeders to allow easy air bleed and keep your suspension nice and plush!

PLEASE NOTE!  The CRF 300L and Rally models only have 1 fork spring and it is housed inside the right fork leg. Also, there is a single aluminum spring spacer included in the Ohlins fork spring kit, it goes on top of the right spring.

The CRF 300L Rally Recommended Fork oil volume
(Use a good quality 30 wt. fluid for best results) Ohlins fluid is available here on our site.

PS- If you are installing the kit yourself, PLEASE NOTE!

• Center tail rack is nicely sized and shaped to fit the rear of the 2013-2020 250L & 2017-2020 Rally and provides a nice solid foundation for luggage, camping gear, etc. The aluminum rack (weighs just over a pound) mounts to the stock steel subframe points (where the stock strap bolts are located).
• Racks are powder-coated satin black for a long-lasting durable finish that looks great on the 250L and Rally!
• Gas Can is a rugged 3l (.8 gallons) spare fuel container similar in design and function to the popular ROTOPAX cans, but shaped to fit inside the left rear SRC Pannier Rack.  Includes quick-release mount and hardware that easily attaches to the inside of the left SRC pannier rack, which is pre-drilled for this mount.
• Not compatible with Yoshimura exhaust due to the side outlet design of the Yoshimura system

The 300L install is shown below and is  basically the same for the 250 models.

Please Note: The CRF 250L/Rally specifications indicate a max subframe load of 35 lbs. We have been loading our racks with nearly 60 pounds of gear for the past 2 years and have put about 8,000 miles on our 2 Honda's over all types of terrain and we have not had any issues with the racks or subframe, but the more extreme your usage, it is something to be aware of and take into consideration.
