OHLINS Fork Fluid Product Features:
Öhlins has developed high-quality oils for its fork spring kits. They include a range of fork oils which will increase the performance of original telescopic and upside-down forks. The different viscosities available make it possible to select the most suitable oil. (7.5W for 250L and 20W for the Rally)
What distinguishes Öhlins fork oil from conventional oils is that it reduces friction, stays cleaner, has a long service life, and is highly resistant to foaming (known as cavitation). Together with the front fork springs from Öhlins, a considerable improvement in the responsiveness and performance of an original fork can be achieved.
Note: 2 quarts/liters required to completely change the fluid
PLEASE NOTE! The CRF 250L and Rally models only have 1 fork spring and it is housed inside the right fork leg. Also, there is a single aluminum spring spacer included in the Ohlins fork spring kit, it is used on the standard 250L and goes on top of the right spring. It is not used on the Rally. This is covered in the provided instructions, but folks are overlooking it.

The single biggest complaint from CRF 300L and Rally owners is that the suspension is sprung way too light and the damping is inadequate. The bike seems to be set up for a 100-pound beginner rider- Here's how to fix that. A heavier spring or adjusting the pre-loadwill not resolve the issue.
Front Fork kit fits 2021-2025 CRF 300L & Rally/Rally ABS The Fork kit comes with 3 springs, one light spring for 300L riders up to 175 lbs (7.5N/mm), one stiffer for 175+ 300L and Rally riders (8.5N/mm), the last hard spring for Rally riders (9.5N/mm). The kit also includes billet fork caps with integrated air bleeders to allow easy air bleed and keep your suspension nice and plush!

We recently installed the kits on our Rally’s and noted 3 things that are sort of glossed over in the instructions.
1-- To remove the fork spring, you need to remove a steel retaining clip located inside the fork tube at the top of the spring. It takes 2 people to do this. One to use a flat blade screwdriver or similar tool to depress the spring a bit while the other person uses a dental pick or similar tool to pull the retainer clip out of the groove. There's not a lot of preload on the spring, so it's not dangerous, it's just a tight space that requires 3- 4 hands! :-)
Please note, the video below is for the 250L & Rally, however, the 300's are pretty much the same.

Add some room for switches and electrical accessories in an ergonomically safe and accessible location around the perimeter of the stock instrument panel. Constructed of 16 gauge steel powder coated a nice satin black.
ABS Models, please note: You will have to relocate your ABS switch. Details in video at the bottom of this page.
To install, you'll need to remove the instrument panel. This is fairly easy. It takes about half an hour with common hand tools. We recommend watching our LED turn signal video as it clearly shows how to remove the windscreen, the headlight assembly and then you have easy access the 3 screws that hold the instrument panel in place as well as the wiring harness connector. With the panel removed, position the Rally Dash into place end then simply re-install the panel, headlight and windscreen and you are ready to wire up some switches and install your favorite electrical accessories!
ABS models will require you to relocate the ABS switch bracket.
The upper outlet port diameter is 1-1/8"
The lower switch ports are 1/2" diameter openings.

* Due to popular demand, we now offer a version of the dash with the switches fully wired and ready to attach to the 12V+ connection of your 12-volt accessories such as auxiliary lights, heated grips, heated gear, etc. Each switch offers an 18" long wire lead that is controlled by the rocker switch and terminated with a Posi-Lock (see below for a description of how Posi-lock functions). This circuit is powered by the bikes auxiliary 12-volt power source that the dash plugs into, so the switches power will also be turned off when the ignition is switched off. Please call or email if you need further explanation of how it works, but basically, all the SRC dash accessory circuits are switched by the ignition. The 2 rocker switches provide additional power and switching options whenever the key is in the on position.

For some reason, the CRF 300L and Rally's have really tall seat heights(over 35" and taller than the AFRICA TWIN!?! ), especially for a small displacement beginners bike.
So we have some options to get your feet firmly on the ground. We are pleased to offer these custom-shaped lowering seats that lower the seat height by about 2". These are brand new original HONDA seatsthat have been hand shaped and re-formed to reduce the seat height by about 2" There is still 1-1/2" of foam cushion in the main seating area, so normal ADV riding won't be an issue, but if you are a hard-charging off-roader frequently getting airborne, it might be a bit firm on some landings! :-)
These were developed after my wife was about to give up on her Rally as it was too tall for her. She is relatively new to offroad riding and really felt unsafe and uncomfortable on the Rally, especially when riding on sidehills and slippery surfaces where she was not able to touch the ground when needed. We had already installed a lowering link and that helped, but she wanted it lower to feel comfortable. So we gave one of these a try and she now loves her Rally! Easily installed in just a couple of minutes with common hand tools.
We often get further questions from customers: Here is our general response-
The cons of running a link are due to the geometry change in the suspension. In a nutshell, the bike becomes "choppered out" slightly. So the bike likes to go straight (improves straight-line stability), but when cornering on loose surfaces such as gravel roads or lose dirt, the bikes front end will have a bit more of a tendency to plow or push through corners. This is not noticeable on pavement and a beginner off road rider probably won't push the limits of traction enough to have it be an issue, but if you are an experienced off-road rider, you will most likely notice it.
In regards to seat comfort, we had to choose a compromise point that had decent comfort and still an effective seat height reduction. If you read through the reviews, you will see a couple of comments about reduced comfort. I generally tell people that you most likely won't notice it riding off-road where you are standing up intermittently, but if you are riding a couple hundred miles of pavement, then its surely to be noticeable.
Lastly, to simulate the ride height adjustment, find some lumber, bricks or something that you can easily stack up on both sides of the bike that you can rest your feet on that is the same height as the potential drop from the seat and link. That will give you a pretty good sense of how it will feel after the mods.

The video of the seat features was made using a CRF 250L and that seat is thicker, so we are able to remove 2.5" of the original foam. The 300 seats are slightly thinner, so we can only remove 2" while retaining a good balance of comfort vs seat height reduction. We retain the original HONDA seat foam as it is very good and considered the benchmark discomfort and support.

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, no heavier springs are available for the stock shock. Plus the stock shock rebound damping is way too light and that would make it unsafe to ride with a stiffer spring (it could easily rebound you over the handlebars on certain types of bumps off-road), so the only proper solution is to upgrade the stock shock as the stock suspension is set up for a beginner 120 lb rider and is not adjustable. It’s probably OK if you are just riding on the street with no cargo or passenger, but if you plan to go off-road at all the suspension will need to be upgraded.
